The Geissele Super Semi-Automatic Enhanced (SSA-E) Trigger is a finely-tuned semi-automatic-only version of our full-auto, two stage combat trigger presently used in the U.S. Special Operations Community. Built on the chassis of the Geissele SSA, the SSA-E provides enhanced trigger control and weapon accuracy while maintaining the robustness and reliability of our combat-proven two-stage trigger. The SSA-E s reduced 1st and 2nd stage pull weights result in a trigger with a smooth, light 1st stage take-up and a crisp, candy cane-like 2nd stage break. The SSA-E is ideal for use in precision Squad Designated Marksman type rifles where weapon accuracy and reliability are critical and a non-adjustable drop in trigger is desired.

Performance Advantages for the Shooter
The Geissele SSA-E has a pull weight of about 3.5 lbs. There is 2.3 lbs. on the 1st stage and 1.2 lbs. on the 2nd stage. The pull weights and sear engagement are non-adjustable by the shooter.
Trigger and hammer are made from quality tool steel.
Sear surfaces are cut by a wire edm machine. Sears cut this way are very accurate and the non-directional surface finish of the wire edm gives a smooth trigger pull without the associated grittiness of directional machining marks left by a milling cutter.
The initial force needed to start the disengagement of the sear surfaces is low and the force linearly increases at a low rate. This helps the shot to fall at the initial point of aim and aids in building shooter confidence in his weapons ability to put the rounds where his sight is pointing.
The Geissele SSA-E trigger allows the shooter to slap through the trigger pull on close in shots but also set up a long range shot with a crisp trigger break.
A full force hammer spring is used for quick lock time and positive ignition of all types of ammo. No lightened hammer spring is used.
The hammer is lighter than a standard AR15 hammer. The lightened hammer favorably decreases lock time over a standard hammer from 8.5 to 5.1 ms and increases accuracy of the weapon.

    Geissele SSAE

Awesome trigger, been looking at it for a long time going back and forth on if I should buy it or not. Finally pulled the trigger (haha...) it was well worth the investment. Night and day difference from the trigger I had in my AR. This is my first high end trigger and after shooting mil-spec for years in the Marines my AR feels like a new weapon!

    Amazing Trigger!

I really didn't know what I was missing out on. I've felt some awful stock triggers, but I considered most of mine to be decent. Until I used the SSA-E, that is. I can't think of a better combination of crispness and durability. The only downside of getting this trigger is being disappointed with the other ones I own.

This trigger is great it made all the difference in holding tighter groups and faster repeating shots the reset is so quick. This trigger is the only thing my Daniel defense m4 was missing

best 2 stage i've found, bar none

I own, or have used, several other brand trigger assemblies in multiple ar platforms. Decided to try the SSA-E in my new build, after hearing all the rave reviews, and all i can say is, why have i wasted so much money on any of the others. Soon all of my other triggers will be up for sale, having been replaced with the SSA-E. There is no magical trigger out there that can make a bad shot into an expert, but the people at Geissele have sure have come close! The short, lite, and smooth take up of the first stage, then the solid wall stop reaching the second stage with no perceptable travel for the glass rod break and short reset, make this an excelent trigger for not only trigger slapping in close quarter, but ideal for longer precision shots as well. You will not be disapointed.

    Outstanding Trigger

I installed this trigger on an otherwise unmodified Ruger SR556. What an improvement! Smooth, crisp, and consistent from the very first round. One of the very best triggers I have ever used.

Next upgrade will be to the full auto trigger.

Best Combat triggers on the market

Geissele Automatics has a winner here. If you have ever had the chance to shoot an SSA unit, I'm sure you were impressed. This is an SSA "turned up to ELEVEN". Break is lighter, crisper, and comes after less travel. Reset is even shorter than the SSA, which is already very abbreviated.

Simply outstanding. All components are individually serialized and MPI'd. Yes, you read that right. I don't know of any other trigger manufacturer who is this anal with QC.

It is battle ready and still runs with any precision trigger unit. It's designed for a lifetime of hard use.

    SSA-E Review

I have 3 diff't trigger packs, factory Stag, Rock River NM2, and this unit. Out of all three, the Geissele is my favorite, short first stage, and the second stage is near perfect for me. It may not be the cheapest piece you can find, but the performance and simplicity of it are tough to beat.

    My first 2 stage trigger

Posted by Felix on Feb 15th 2011

after countless hours reading up on triggers for a "SPR" I decided on this one. I needed something grunt proof with no tiny adjustable part to loose or break. I wanted something easy to put in, light, crisp and that would set off my ammo reliably. Finally I wanted it to be affordable it was priced right around the middle of the pack as far as match grade 2 stage triggers go. I'm very Pleased with the SSA-E and it has exceed my expectations.
