Manufactured from aluminum, it is lightweight yet durable. Also featuring a proprietary patent pending mounting, indexing and lock up system that mitigates 12:00 rail movement under heat generated from the barrel nut.

 

Handguard alone weighs 4.9oz!

Handguard flares forward (towards muzzle end) at the 3 and 9 O'clock positions approximately 1/4"

Actual length when measured to flare is 8.14"

The KMR barrel nut will fit over all mil-spec diameter barrels (max of 1")

 

Mounting hardware, 2.4oz, for a total of 7.3 oz on a 8" rail.

 

The KMR Alpha is hardcoat anodized for corrosion resistance as well as to maintain a non-reflective finish.

The KeyMod interface system was developed by Eric Kincel (now the Director of BCM's product development team) to work in parallel with the current picatinny system. In many applications it will advance modularity past the current 1913 rail system.

The BCM KMR Alpha also allows for a larger range of modularity offering 4 different offset mounting positions between traditional 3,6,9, and 12:00 positions.

In the most basic of applications the KeyMod system allows for universal modularity between various manufacturers of accessories, and accessory rails. A big win for the trigger puller. As the industry advances the modular accessories will mount directly to the KeyMod instead of picatinny, allowing for a lighter, cleaner, and less bulky weapon system.

Please note: Nylon/Polymer Picatinny rail sections are for NON-load bearing accessories only. For load bearing accessories, we recommend aluminum Picatinny rail sections. Do NOT exceed 20 in/lbs. when securing KeyMod Fasteners on Polymer accessories. Aluminum Picatinny rail sections may be torqued to 30 in/lbs

    Preliminary rating

    Haven't used it yet, but the quality is excellent, very lightweight and appears durable and the process from order to receiving shipment has been smooth and fast. I anticipate the hanguard will assemble and function perfectly.

    Amazing Quad Rail

    This was the first time I have used a BCM rail and it did not disappoint. The barrel nut and supplied barrel nut adapter worked flawlessly. I torqued the barrel down to 45 lbs. per square inch with out a problem. The barrel nut and inside diameter of the rail are VERY precise. It takes time to slip the rail over the nut, but it locks up like a bank vault. I could not be happier with my purchase and will be buying another for my next rifle build.

    From the fit and function of the rail to the customer service everything about this purchase was a pleasure. I will definitely be using BCM ALPHA rails in the future.

    Very lightweight

    Alpha 8 inch handgaurds

    Awesome quality as expected.

    Tolerance fit up is tightttttt for the handgaurd over the barrel night. I used a scotch Brite to very very lightly sand the barrel nut. Used a hair dryer and she went right on.

    One thing I noticed was the handgaurd is actually a true 8.25" not 8"
