Manufactured from aluminum, it is lightweight yet durable. Also featuring a proprietary patent pending mounting, indexing and lock up system that mitigates 12:00 rail movement under heat generated from the barrel nut.

 

Handguard alone weighs 4.9oz!

Handguard flares forward (towards muzzle end) at the 3 and 9 O'clock positions approximately 1/4"

Actual length when measured to flare is 8.14"

The KMR barrel nut will fit over all mil-spec diameter barrels (max of 1")

 

Mounting hardware, 2.4oz, for a total of 7.3 oz on a 8" rail.

 

The KMR Alpha is hardcoat anodized for corrosion resistance as well as to maintain a non-reflective finish.

The KeyMod interface system was developed by Eric Kincel (now the Director of BCM's product development team) to work in parallel with the current picatinny system. In many applications it will advance modularity past the current 1913 rail system.

The BCM KMR Alpha also allows for a larger range of modularity offering 4 different offset mounting positions between traditional 3,6,9, and 12:00 positions.

In the most basic of applications the KeyMod system allows for universal modularity between various manufacturers of accessories, and accessory rails. A big win for the trigger puller. As the industry advances the modular accessories will mount directly to the KeyMod instead of picatinny, allowing for a lighter, cleaner, and less bulky weapon system.

Please note: Nylon/Polymer Picatinny rail sections are for NON-load bearing accessories only. For load bearing accessories, we recommend aluminum Picatinny rail sections. Do NOT exceed 20 in/lbs. when securing KeyMod Fasteners on Polymer accessories. Aluminum Picatinny rail sections may be torqued to 30 in/lbs

    Light and comfortable

    Handguard is real easy to get a good hold on, doesn't dig into my hands. Still breaking in my ar pistol build, but so far have had any issues with heat affecting my ability to mantain my grip on handrail.

    Best Decision

    I recently purchase a BCM AR-15 which is the best gun I own. So I was thinking about selling my S&W AR-15 that has a troy floating hand grip. Instead I decided to change the grip to a BCM and I'm glad I did.

    Worth the price

    Feels small in your hand. Very ridged. This thing is press fit tight. Follow the instructions and apply heat with a heat gun.it is simple and very lightweight. I'm not big on key mod but I don't hang shit on my guns.

    8" key mod handguard bcm

    I recently built an AR pistol with a 7.5" barrel and used the key mod 8" handguard. The handguard went on nice and tight just like it said it would. Looks great and can't wait to try it out.

    This handguard was for a 9in barrel 300blk build. It is a perfect fit, a little tight going together, but solid feel. Light weight and slim, good to go
