Manufactured from aluminum, it is lightweight yet durable. Also featuring a proprietary patent pending mounting, indexing and lock up system that mitigates 12:00 rail movement under heat generated from the barrel nut.

The KMR barrel nut will fit over all mil-spec diameter barrels (max of 1")

 

Mounting hardware, 2.4oz, for a total of 7.3 oz on a 8" rail.

 

The KMR Alpha is hardcoat anodized for corrosion resistance as well as to maintain a non-reflective finish.

The KeyMod interface system was developed by Eric Kincel (now the Director of BCM's product development team) to work in parallel with the current picatinny system. In many applications it will advance modularity past the current 1913 rail system.

The BCM KMR Alpha also allows for a larger range of modularity offering 4 different offset mounting positions between traditional 3,6,9, and 12:00 positions.

In the most basic of applications the KeyMod system allows for universal modularity between various manufacturers of accessories, and accessory rails. A big win for the trigger puller. As the industry advances the modular accessories will mount directly to the KeyMod instead of picatinny, allowing for a lighter, cleaner, and less bulky weapon system.

Please note: Nylon/Polymer Picatinny rail sections are for NON-load bearing accessories only. For load bearing accessories, we recommend aluminum Picatinny rail sections. Do NOT exceed 20 in/lbs. when securing KeyMod Fasteners on Polymer accessories. Aluminum Picatinny rail sections may be torqued to 30 in/lbs

    BCM KMR

    I had to put a KMR on my 300 blackout pistol. I love the 8 inch handguard with my 8.5 inch barrel. I have KMR's on two of my other rifles and they are rock solid.

    BCM KMR Alpha 8" handguard

    The handguard is great, lightweight, comfortable to hold, very nice, just wish on the website it was clear that it came with the mounting kit (barrel nut, wrench etc) because I thought that I had to purchase that separately (as they offered it separately I thought that the reason was because you had to purchase it separately )

    Great Rail

    I have several KMRs on different rifles and pistol builds. It's a very well made product; sturdy and very light which is what I look for in rails/forends. The KMRs mount so much easier than other brands that require certain timing/alignment that can be a pain.

    Great alternative to the KMR

    I have been hesitant to buy the KMR due to price, but when I saw the Alpha I was skeptical. After receiving it, it feels sturdy and very lightweight. I love the low profile nature of the handguard. Similar in profile to the CA CMR. I was also hesitant to invest in the keymod system. After looking at how everything mounts, it seems rock solid. I was also worried that the keymod holes would be finger traps. No issues there either. The KMR comes with a torx tool for all the keymod accessories and tension bolts. Also comes with a barrel nut wrench which doubles as a castle nut wrench. The barrel nut uses a similar design as the castle nut so install would be no issue for something without a dedicated barrel wrench. Also included were blue locktite and a 3" rail. Got everything on sale during the Black Friday sale. Very happy withmy purchase so far.
