All the advantages and features of Bravo Company's KeyMod™ Rail, now available in 100% aluminum

 

Manufactured from aluminum, it is lightweight yet durable. Also featuring a proprietary patent pending mounting, indexing and lock up system that mitigates 12:00 rail movement under heat generated from the barrel nut.

 

Handguard alone weighs 7.8oz!

The KMR barrel nut will fit over all mil-spec diameter barrels (max of 1")

Mounting hardware, 2.4oz, for a total of 10.2oz on a very long 13 rail.

 

The KMR Alpha is hardcoat anodized for corrosion resistance as well as to maintain a non-reflective finish.

 

The KeyMod interface system was developed by Eric Kincel (now the Director of BCM's product development team) to work in parallel with the current picatinny system. In many applications it will advance modularity past the current 1913 rail system.

 

The BCM KMR Alpha also allows for a larger range of modularity offering 4 different offset mounting positions between traditional 3,6,9, and 12:00 positions.

 

In the most basic of applications the KeyMod system allows for universal modularity between various manufacturers of accessories, and accessory rails. A big win for the trigger puller. As the industry advances the modular accessories will mount directly to the KeyMod instead of picatinny, allowing for a lighter, cleaner, and less bulky weapon system.

Please note: Nylon/Polymer Picatinny rail sections are for NON-load bearing accessories only. For load bearing accessories, we recommend aluminum Picatinny rail sections. Do NOT exceed 20 in/lbs. when securing KeyMod Fasteners on Polymer accessories. Aluminum Picatinny rail sections may be torqued to 30 in/lbs

    Perfect rail for me.

    Fit and finish is perfect. My small hands fit this rail perfect. The indexing tab is a nice touch too.

    KMR-A 13 perfection

    I just received my KMR Alpha 13". I wanted to post some initial impressions. As a machinist, I'm impressed by the accuracy of the CNC work here. There are many tolerances at play within the parts here, and the work within those tolerances is spectacular. The fit between the barrel nut and the rail is within the temperature expansion of the dissimilar materials. That's pretty outstanding for a production unit. I mean keeping the tolerances within a couple thousandths on each component so that only a 40-50 degree temp increase will make for a press fit vs. leaving the parts over/undersize by a couple thou to make a slip fit is pretty nice work.

    On the packaging side, each component is in a separately hermetically sealed portion of a heavy plastic bag. It is representative of a thorough fluid process that ensures all parts are supplied with each unit. It's a minor thing that speaks volumes about the business model at BCM.

    Awesome hanguard. Light, helps disipate heat, and much better looking than the MOE handguards I had before.
