Manufactured from aluminum, it is lightweight yet durable. Also featuring a proprietary patent pending mounting, indexing and lock up system that mitigates 12:00 rail movement under heat generated from the barrel nut.

 

Handguard alone weighs 7.8oz!

The KMR barrel nut will fit over all mil-spec diameter barrels (max of 1")

Mounting hardware, 2.4oz, for a total of 10.2oz on a very long 13 rail.

 

The KMR Alpha is hardcoat anodized for corrosion resistance as well as to maintain a non-reflective finish.

 

The KeyMod interface system was developed by Eric Kincel (now the Director of BCM's product development team) to work in parallel with the current picatinny system. In many applications it will advance modularity past the current 1913 rail system.

 

The BCM KMR Alpha also allows for a larger range of modularity offering 4 different offset mounting positions between traditional 3,6,9, and 12:00 positions.

 

In the most basic of applications the KeyMod system allows for universal modularity between various manufacturers of accessories, and accessory rails. A big win for the trigger puller. As the industry advances the modular accessories will mount directly to the KeyMod instead of picatinny, allowing for a lighter, cleaner, and less bulky weapon system.

Please note: Nylon/Polymer Picatinny rail sections are for NON-load bearing accessories only. For load bearing accessories, we recommend aluminum Picatinny rail sections. Do NOT exceed 20 in/lbs. when securing KeyMod Fasteners on Polymer accessories. Aluminum Picatinny rail sections may be torqued to 30 in/lbs

    Boom, Space Gun.

    I purchased this for my sig M400 pistol. I also installed a low profile gas block and Noveske kx5. They all fit to get her flawlessly, great setup

    Best Keymod handguard on the market...

    Low profile, ergonomic, and well built. Zero complaints with this product.
    One of the design features which attracted me to the KMR was the fact that the KeyMod interfaces are incorporated around the entire handguard, rather than the just typical 3, 6 ,and 9 O'clock positions, allowing the user to easily mount attachments at a 45 degree offset in a low profile manner. BCM is one of the only manufacturers that I've seen to take advantage of this design feature that KeyMod allows for.
    Also the unique mounting system offers an extremely solid attachment to the upper, yet is very clean looking. I particularly like that the barrel nut is based around the specs for a standard castle-nut, rather than forcing you to use a proprietary wrench.
    All around a wonderful product. I will likely buy another in a different length for my next build.

    Best keymod rail available

    It's a super light, super slim, and super modular rail. You couldn't ask for anything more in a modern keymod rail. The BCM KMR sets the industry standard.

    Still awesome

    After putting a KMR Alpha 15 on my 18" rifle, I bought this for my 16" carbine. I cut down the A2 FSB with a Dremel to use as a low profile gas block. With the top, sling mount, and bayonet lug cut off it fits without issue, no rounding of the bottom was required. The only hang up is the included rail section won't go at the 11 or 1 o'clock position with my picatinny flashlight mount on it. That being said, this is the only rail I will consider for future builds, it's that good, just buy it.

    great but...

    I strip finish and polish for custom anodizing color. Those who are installing right out of the box beware the factory "black stuff" applied for finish rubs off to almost see raw metal. (maybe the 2 purchased separately were defect). I would think better for the cost.
    Otherwise it's stylish, light, feels great and barrel nut design so can torque and not worry about gas tube alignment a plus.
    Fitting handguard onto nut no problem.
