This upper group comes with options for your muzzle device. With a standard A2 flash hider, it would be for a NFA weapon. We also have the option to permanently install (blind pin and weld) other attachments (listed above). We only offer the muzzle options listed above. The permanently installed muzzle devices will bring the barrel out over 16" long.

If selecting a permanent muzzle device, please allow an ADDITIONAL 2-3 business days to process your order.

These 14.5" mid length gas barreled upper receiver groups have been specifically tuned to be a very soft and fast shooting set up. They are a joy to shoot, but please feed it good ammo. With good milspec pressured ammo we have been running H buffers. We do not recommend using lower powered ammo. If using less than milspec pressured ammo, it may be best to run a standard carbine buffer.
Professional Grade Weaponry, by BCM®™
Made by Bravo Company MFG, Inc. (BCM®™) These Barreled Upper Receiver Groups are designed for shooting professionals with the Mil-Spec features for the demands of their duty. They are fully assembled, headspaced, and test fired.
As a note: BCM®™ barrel components are parkerized separately before assembly. Prior to shipping, all BCM®™ upper receiver groups are test fired for function, laser bore sighted with a Milspec carry handle for sight alignment within Mil-Specs, and then batch samples are test fired for accuracy. As such, the upper receiver group will show handling marks consistent with these quality control procedures.

M4 Feed Ramp Barrel Extension
M4 Feed Ramp Flat Top Receiver
In developing the USGI M4 carbine as one of the primary weapons for today s infantry, some modifications were performed to the original M16 platform to enhance the reliability of the shorter barreled carbines. With the shorter carbine gas system and the increased gas port pressure, the carbine cycled faster, and at times the cycle rate could be faster than the magazine would feed ammunition. One of the modifications done to increase reliable feeding included enhancing the angle and the length of the feed ramps. This USGI modification was done to both the barrel extension and the upper receiver, creating a longer and steeper feed ramp. These Mil-Spec M4 feed ramps are part of the original CNC manufacturing process. As a result, the factory machined M4 feed ramps on the receiver are hard coat anodized which adds significant strength to the aluminum. This feature is offered on all BCM® uppers and all BCM® barrels.
T-Marked Upper Receiver
The contemporary M16/M4 rifle is built around the concept of modularity. All of the BCM® flat top uppers feature a USGI type laser etched T-marks to provide addressing for the remounting of tactical accessories such as optics, laser sights, etc. This enables the weapon platform to be easily configured and then accurately reconfigured for each specific mission.
USGI 1/7 Twist Rate
The USGI 1/7 twist rate of all of the BCM® barrels is the preferred twist rate by most professional infantryman. This twist rate has proven very versatile and can effectively run the new heavier 5.56 ammo that is hugely popular with military and private security personal for its superior ballistics.
Mil-Spec 11595E - Barrel Steel
BCM® barrel steel is Mil-Spec per MIL-B-11595E. This grade (CMV) of steel is a Mil-Spec steel used in the USGI M16 family of rifles; it is stronger and will last longer than the typical barrels offered in the commercial market. The Mil-Spec grade steel gets its additional strength and rigidity from an increase in carbon and/or vanadium in the alloy. This will offer increased barrel life and performance through use in all types of extreme environments and temperatures.
Chrome Bore and Chamber
One of the first modifications that were made to the original M16 in the mid 1960 s was the addition of the chrome lined bore and chamber. It is now a worldwide standard in the industry for a battle rifle. The chrome bore and chamber is harder than the barrel steel and on the USGI M16/M4 rifles will aid in chambering, extraction, and reliability. It increases velocity, and also resist against fouling and corrosion from extended use in the field. This gives the end user a longer barrel life with less required time in maintenance and cleaning.
Manganese Phosphate Barrel Finish
Barrels are parkerized with the manganese phosphate finish (Mil-Spec A-A-59267). Military specifications also state that the entire barrel surface is phosphate finished to create a porous surface to absorb oil as to resist against corrosion from the elements. BCM® barrels are phosphated before installation of front sights. This is a much more extensive assembly operation, but insures that the entire barrel is finished and protected . . .even under the front sight base.
5.56 NATO Chambers
The USGI 5.56 NATO chamber is the best choice for effective deployment, reliability, and compatibility, of higher chamber pressures of military ammo.
Mil-Spec F-Marked Forged Front Sight Bases
Mil-Spec for rifles issued to the troops require taller front sight bases on all flat top AR rifles. Many commercial offerings use M16A2 height front sight bases on all of their barrels regardless of what type of upper it is installed on. As a result, owners of rifles and carbines with the flat top receiver configuration can have problems getting a proper 'zero' for elevation with Mil-Spec back up iron sights. As all of the BCM® uppers are built for flat top uppers, all have the proper Mil-Spec F marked front sight base to insure the correct height for iron sight zeroing when using military iron sights. Mil-Spec taper pins secure the forged front sight base with the sling swivel secured by tubular rivets.
Government Barrel Profiles
Duty rifles are built to be carried - day in and day out. The USGI barrel profiles (often referred to as the Government Profile) enable the operator to carry their weapon for longer periods of time and deploy them faster than the heavier commercial H-Barrel counterparts. The government profile barrel is also compatible with the current M203 mounting systems.
HPT / MP Inspected Barrels
Military specifications require that barrels undergo a HPT (High-Pressure Test) load as a part of quality assurance procedures. Commonly referred to as a proof load, the M197 HPT is rated for 70,000 psi. BCM® barrels are proof loaded and then MPI (Magnetic Particle Inspected) to detect any possible flaws in the barrels surface. The barrels are MP inspected with both circular and longitudinal magnetic fields per ASTME1444-01 (current Mil-Spec) to assure a high quality finished product. All BCM® barrels are marked HP MP as our proof load marking.

    100% Satisfied Customer

Posted by Michael McCulty on Nov 11th 2015

This was my 2nd AR build project and I decided to go with this upper because you get a free bolt carrier group, plus Bravo Company pinned and welded the flash suppressor for me saving me the hassle of finding a local shop to do it. I placed my order on Sunday night, and today (Wednesday) I received it. The shipping dept. did not skimp on bubble wrap and packing materials and upon inspection the upper looks perfect and was coated in a very light oil. I was surprised to find a very nice BC USA baseball hat. It wasn't a cheap hat either, very nice quality. I also found some BCM stickers and a cardboard tube filled with 5 awesome posters. I didn't measure them but they are probably 18x24 inches. If you have been on the fence on whether or not to order, for the love of toast do it now. I highly doubt you will be disappointed. Even with out the free BCG and the free hat the product and customer service is top notch. Thank You So Much Bravo Company!!!

    Believe the Hype.

Posted by Deputy FL on Nov 11th 2015

Holy Crap. Believe every word of it. Paul is not lying. This thing shoots super smooth. I shot it back-to-back with my buddy's 14.5" BCM carbine (M4) upper. His shot great...but mine was so soft and moved so little, he said it shoots "like a video game." He has three tours in Iraq as an Air Cav scout....he would know. Just ante-up and get the FSC556 perm attached...it's worth every penny. This thing shoots flat and SOFT. Makes every other 14.5" upper irrelevant (except a KAC SR15). Price is great and performance is great as well. On top of that, the shipping was super fast and the upper arrived in mint (yet test fired) condition. I could not be happier. Buy with confidence.

    Outstanding performance

Posted by William Williams on Nov 11th 2015

When I received the upper, I noticed right away that the fit and finish were perfect. I added my accessories and headed to the range. It did not matter what ammo I put in the mag, the upper ran flawlessly. The accuracy and performance surpassed the expectations that I have of BCM products I already own. I am already planning my next upper purchase from BCM.

    Great upper

Posted by Robert Smith on Nov 6th 2015

After my experience with the BCM BCG and charging handle I decided to try a full upper. The quality is top notch. The finish is great and the anodizing is perfect. I'm only 4000 or so rounds into this one but it shoots soft and eats all the ammo I've thrown at it. It's easily my favorite rifle.

    Bayonet Lug

Posted by Rich Soo Hoo on Sep 5th 2015

FYI - for those of you who live in the non free states that still have an AWB, this upper comes with a bayonet lug.

Other than that, BCM is good to go.

    Very well built! Amazing Quality!

Posted by Matthew Hulme on Sep 10th 2013

Insanely fast shipping that even exceeded the projection from BCM. Upper was flawless in assembly, and the PWS FSC556 was pinned and welded perfectly. Haven't been able to fire it yet, mostly because I projected some wait time from BCM, and my daggone charging handle is not here yet from a different supplier!

    Outstanding

Posted by Sean Watson on Nov 9th 2012

I have had my upper for almost a year, 4,000 rounds of STEEL TULA ammo and not one malfunction, i have only cleaned this rifle maybe 3 times. And when i say cleaned i mean wiped down the BCG with CLP and run a boresnake down the barrel, no scrubbing or chamber brushes. I also ordered the BCM BCG and Mod 4 gunfighter (which is now standard on all of my rifles) along with a Daniel Defense Omega Rail. Runs like a dream, took less then a week to ship to my house even with the welded A2X. Thanks BCM!

    Perfect

Posted by Benjamin on Nov 7th 2012

First of all, the shipping was fast. I ordered it on a Wensday morning, they welded the A2-x and shipped it that day. It arrived the following monday. It was well packaged and came very oiled and even had a few extras in the box (bcm ball cap, posters, etc.). Upon initial inspection it was clear that bcm builds very high quality rifles. The M-4 feed ramps were the best I have seen. The weld on the flash hider is easy to find but does not stand out in an ugly way. I slapped on a carry handle and a lower (carbine buffer) and off to the range I went. 150 rounds with zero problems (pmc .223 and a bunch of .556 stuff) Groups were good. I plan on replacing more of this rifle with bcm stuff and cannot see ever buying an upper from anywhere else.

    You Can't Go Wrong

Posted by Wes on Oct 19th 2012

I ordered my barreled reciever on a Thursday. Friday morning before 8AM I was contacted to verify my shipping address. Monday morning when I got to work the package was waiting for me. I even ordered a pinned and welded flash hider. Outstanding service! Then I assmbled the upper on a fresh Rock River lower that I built. The fit was perfect! If you are thinking of buying an upper but are on the fence; just DO IT! You will not regret it. I have heard nothing but good things about BCM and now I can tell you from my own experiance that it is true. BCM is a first class firearms company!
