Manufactured from aluminum, it is lightweight yet durable. Also featuring a proprietary patent pending mounting, indexing and lock up system that mitigates 12:00 rail movement under heat generated from the barrel nut.

 

Handguard alone weighs 8.6oz!

The KMR barrel nut will fit over all mil-spec diameter barrels (max of 1")

The KMR Alpha is hardcoat anodized for corrosion resistance as well as to maintain a non-reflective finish.

 

The KeyMod interface system was developed by Eric Kincel (now the Director of BCM's product development team) to work in parallel with the current picatinny system. In many applications it will advance modularity past the current 1913 rail system.

 

The BCM KMR Alpha also allows for a larger range of modularity offering 4 different offset mounting positions between traditional 3,6,9, and 12:00 positions.

 

In the most basic of applications the KeyMod system allows for universal modularity between various manufacturers of accessories, and accessory rails. A big win for the trigger puller. As the industry advances the modular accessories will mount directly to the KeyMod instead of picatinny, allowing for a lighter, cleaner, and less bulky weapon system.

Please note: Nylon/Polymer Picatinny rail sections are for NON-load bearing accessories only. For load bearing accessories, we recommend aluminum Picatinny rail sections. Do NOT exceed 20 in/lbs. when securing KeyMod Fasteners on Polymer accessories. Aluminum Picatinny rail sections may be torqued to 30 in/lbs

    Great product

    I am an armorer for AR-15's and was impressed by BCM guns and uppers. The lightweight tight fitting hand guard was awesome. It was worth every penny to replace my Troy and the old stock barrel nut. I like that BCM's barrel but does not touch the gas tube, very nice.

    Light as simple

    I have always used quad rails on my weapons, going back to my time in the Army. The one my keymod replaced was 12.5 inches, and fat! Picatinny also eats gloves like nothing else. Though I have big hands, I've always wanted something a little smaller, and a little sleeker. My order arrived in a couple days, and the install went smoothly. Though simple, and using much less hardware than other smooth rails I've seen, the KMR handguard is incredibly solid. It interfaces very tightly with the barrel nut, and the hardware holds it firmly and reliably in place with a just a bit of blue loctite, which comes with the handguard. It is extremely lightweight, and reduced the front-end weight of my carbine by nearly two pounds while providing significantly more attachment options and adding 2.5 inches of extra real estate. Excellent design, excellent craftsmanship, and excellent customer service.

    Hand Guard

    This is one of, if not the best hand guard that I have ever had in my hands. It also lets the barrel vent very well for a quick cooling time.

    First build, great product

    Fits perfectly, easy to install. Took it to the range and was asked several times about my hand guard. Keep up the great work and I will definitely be back

    Great Rail but...

    The rail itself is awesome with unmatched quality. I can't say the same for the barrel nut. The tool included to tighten the barrel nut fits very loosely on to the nut. It will strip if you're not very careful and you'll have to buy another barrel nut like me. Like I said, the rail is awesome, but the barrel nut needs improvement.

    One of the best out there!

    I've got two of these rails. One is a 9" that fits perfect on my mid length upper with a fixed front sight. The second is a 15" which is set up with a low profile gas block also from BCM. The rail is durable, slim, light and I love the way it connects to the upper. There is no way it can twist,pull off or move in anyway Ben on the 15". I had another 15" from another well know company and theirs actually Tilted upward so I can't even run iron sights on it and waste of money. Would buy this rail any day.

    Lightest, toughest rail ever used for builds

    I have this rail on 3 of my rifles. It is super light, and the long sleeve provides a great radius distance for iron sights.
