Manufactured from aluminum, it is lightweight yet durable. Also featuring a proprietary patent pending mounting, indexing and lock up system that mitigates 12:00 rail movement under heat generated from the barrel nut.

 

Handguard alone weighs 8.6oz!

The KMR barrel nut will fit over all mil-spec diameter barrels (max of 1")

 

Mounting hardware, 2.4oz, for a total of 11oz on a very long 15 rail.

 

The KMR Alpha is hardcoat anodized for corrosion resistance as well as to maintain a non-reflective finish.

 

The KeyMod interface system was developed by Eric Kincel (now the Director of BCM's product development team) to work in parallel with the current picatinny system. In many applications it will advance modularity past the current 1913 rail system.

 

The BCM KMR Alpha also allows for a larger range of modularity offering 4 different offset mounting positions between traditional 3,6,9, and 12:00 positions.

 

In the most basic of applications the KeyMod system allows for universal modularity between various manufacturers of accessories, and accessory rails. A big win for the trigger puller. As the industry advances the modular accessories will mount directly to the KeyMod instead of picatinny, allowing for a lighter, cleaner, and less bulky weapon system.

Please note: Nylon/Polymer Picatinny rail sections are for NON-load bearing accessories only. For load bearing accessories, we recommend aluminum Picatinny rail sections. Do NOT exceed 20 in/lbs. when securing KeyMod Fasteners on Polymer accessories. Aluminum Picatinny rail sections may be torqued to 30 in/lbs

    KMR Alpha handguard

    What can be said. Seven uppers : six KMR and one alpha KMR. Several 13 inch and several 15 inch. It's hard to improve on a near perfect hand guard. Beat the bejesus out of them on the 4 wheeler on the ranch and aside from some natural wear and tear have never felt the need for something else.

    High quality Lightweight Excellent all around

    I like that these rails fit tight and narrow parallel to the barrel. (Not bulky) I can get a solid grip around the handrail and it feels comfortable and stable. BCM quality is second-to-none. I'm a bit partial to the keymod design too. Recommended!

    perfect fit, amazingly light

    This is the third build I've used a KMR alpha on. I recomend them to every one of my friends dsold who is starting a build. Hand over fist lighter than any other rail I've ever owned. If you don't have one on your rifle yet, do that. You will not regret it.

    Top Notch

    I looked at a few other really hi-end handguards and all the various specs and features they offered. It was a difficult decision to make but I am very pleased with my decision to purchase the BCM KMR ALPHA 15 handguard. Install was easier than I anticipated ( this is my first AR-15 build) but I was well prepared after watching YouTube how to videos. I used Aero shell grease, a hair dryer to get the rail really hot to touch, and a rubber mallet to tap it into place.

    Great transaction all-around

    The shipment started immediately, I was given a tracking number before it was even initially scanned by the shipping service. The rail itself is impressive but I was very impressed by the work I did with BCM. Lately in my build companies have had some issues. Not all, like BCM, but some.

    Top quality product.

    Top quality product. Installation was not difficult at all, the handguard was a bit tight over the barrel nut but I just heated it up a little and used a rubber mallet to tap it in place. Definitely going with the BCM KMR handguard on my next build.

    De'ja vu all over again!

    My 2nd KMR "A" 15. Just as good as the 1st!! These hand guards are AWESOME! Had a Tac Store owner acknowledge the quality but said "hard to install". Dudes and dudettes: follow the directions, get a good heat gun, and take your time. Once installed, they're every bit as good as anything out there, and SOLID! Peace out.
