The BCM® Extractor Spring is a heavy coil design made for the increased extractor tension required on many AR15, M4, M16 short barreled rifles. This product also improves the reliability on a standard 16" and 14.5" carbines.
As with all BCM branded products, the highest quality is the primary focus. Our BCM Extractor Spring is manufactured by a 9001:2000 facility employing the latest precision equipment. BCM starts with only the highest quality chrome silicon material, heat treats to stress relieve the product and shot peens to add increased strength.
This kit also includes the new black extractor insert, standard on all M4, M4A1, Mk18 carbines and the recent new standard on M16A4 rifles. The BCM Extractor Spring is so strong the Mil-Spec Crane O-Ring will probably not be needed, but it is included.

    Tiny Part; Huge Difference

    I wouldn't have thought that something as simple as a stronger extractor spring could fix the issues I was having with my Ruger AR-556: failures to feed & eject, as well as stuck cases in the barrel. Against popular advice I was shooting steel case ammo, and it was giving me nothing but problems. I opted for some Wolf Gold brass ammo, hoping that would be an improvement. Now that I have the BCM extractor spring upgrade in, the 556 is shooting the steel Tula .223 ammo like a champ, and it has also revealed the low quality of the Wolf Gold by way of my extractor literally chewing off pieces of the case head. So the moral of the story: the spring upgrade is great, the 556 now can digest the steel case Tula no problem, and Wolf Gold .223 isn't worth it. Thank you BCM!

    Must-have

    My AR pistol was double feeding due to being overgassed. A heavy buffer, spring and this extractor spring and o-ring kit were the critical parts to make the firearm run smoothly.
