BCM® SS410 Barrels

This BCM stripped barrel is machined from a 410 stainless steel. It features hand lapped button rifling with a 1/8 twist rate and M4 feedramps. To give the shooter the best balance of weight and accuracy this BCM Recce barrel has a mid-weight profile and a mid-length gas system. (410 stainless is a harder and more corrosion resistant than the conventional 416 stainless found in most barrels.)

DLC Coating stands for diamond-lkike carbon coating, and is a nanocomposite coating that has unique properties of natural diamond low friction, high hardness, and high corrosion resistance.

DLC coatings advantages
reduced coefficient of friction
increased abrasive wear resistance
anti-scuffing/anti-galling
high fretting resistance
high pitting resistance
resistance to corrosion and hydrocarbon fuels
high integrity of surface structure
good adhesion to base materials

DLC coatings directly improve wear resistance due to their high hardness, low coefficient of friction and high structural integrity. These coatings with thicknesses of only a few microns and with hardness up to 4000HV, result in increased firearm life and functionality. The DLC finishes, absorb oil and release it over time due to the unique characteristics.

Requires the use of the .750 gas block.

The best is always worth the price...

Purchased late October 2010. Beautifully machined. Appealing appearance with its Ionbond finish. The product description leaves out that there is a dimple on the barrel directly under the gasport for sight bases that use allen screws to secure the base to the barrel. No shots through it at this date, but I know in my heart it's a winner...

As of late January 2011, I have taken this barrel to the range and have shot it maybe 100 times. Very accurate. Puts them into the same hole at 50 and 75 yards with a 1X red-dot sight and an inexpensive scope from the world's largest retailer. I don't plan to sight it out any farther, but I believe this barrel will drill 'em just as well at 100, 200 and farther out. I am very pleased. Because this barrel is 410 stainless, it will still be shooting good when I'm geezing hard...
