Trying a heavier buffer to moderate the recoil in a .30 AR

I replaced my old H buffer with the new H2 buffer from Bravo Company USA in my 14.5" AR. Works with all ammo I put through it. Shot .223 brass,steel, and 5.56 ammo without any issues.

I originally ordered the standard buffer and installed it in a custom build. Before I tested it I was thinking I should have ordered the H2 buffer so I did order it. While waiting for delivery I took the gun out for some work and the standard buffer worked just fine. I put the H2 buffer in after receiving it and it also worked fine although I admittedly wasn't paying too much attention. The next time out I will take a longer look at what the ejected cases are doing - but the feel and performance was just right.

After my DTI (m4) carbine's stock buffer weight failed, I got the BCM H2 weight. The rifle now seems to have less felt recoil and smoother overall cycling. Like everything I have ordered from BCM, prompt shipping, great quality, and reasonable prices. I will continue to use BCM for most of AR parts needs!

Bravo Company is by far the BEST AR company on the planet. There quality control and customer service is second to none. They treat you like family. In my opinion, after your mid length upper, 14.5 in barrel or 16 in barrel runs the best on an H2 Buffer with a standard carbine spring. I have shot the lightest loads on the market such as AE223 and PMC 223, ran these light loads with the H2 Buffer very dirty but lubed. Rifle cycles perfectly and very soft. I have ran H2 buffers in all my mid length uppers. Thank you BCM, your weapons can handle the heat.

H2 buffer works just fine maybe a little bit more thrust in your shoulder because of the weight.
