Manufactured from aluminum, it is lightweight yet durable. Also featuring a proprietary patent pending mounting, indexing and lock up system that mitigates 12:00 rail movement under heat generated from the barrel nut.

The KMR barrel nut will fit over all mil-spec diameter barrels (max of 1")

 

Mounting hardware, 2.4oz, for a total of 8.0oz on a 9" rail.

 

The KMR Alpha is hardcoat anodized for corrosion resistance as well as to maintain a non-reflective finish.

The KeyMod interface system was developed by Eric Kincel (now the Director of BCM's product development team) to work in parallel with the current picatinny system. In many applications it will advance modularity past the current 1913 rail system.

The BCM KMR Alpha also allows for a larger range of modularity offering 4 different offset mounting positions between traditional 3,6,9, and 12:00 positions.

In the most basic of applications the KeyMod system allows for universal modularity between various manufacturers of accessories, and accessory rails. A big win for the trigger puller. As the industry advances the modular accessories will mount directly to the KeyMod instead of picatinny, allowing for a lighter, cleaner, and less bulky weapon system.

Please note: Nylon/Polymer Picatinny rail sections are for NON-load bearing accessories only. For load bearing accessories, we recommend aluminum Picatinny rail sections. Do NOT exceed 20 in/lbs. when securing KeyMod Fasteners on Polymer accessories. Aluminum Picatinny rail sections may be torqued to 30 in/lbs

    I'm a big fan of the barrel nut and friction fit design of BCM KMR and MMR rails and the quality and consistancy of their manufacture

    Well made, KMR*alpha* 9

    I ordered the KMR *ALPHA* 9 free float handguard for a SBR build.

    As usual BCM shipped it out quickly and I received it in two days. It was packed well and the *ALPHA* was as well made as my 15" original KMR handguard.

    I installed it with no problem and I'm impressed with the quality of this handguard.

    This KMR is my second and it won't be my last. BCM is quality, fast service, and good value.

    Awesome!!

    Awesome handgaurd! Really pleased with the slim profile and light weight. Instructions were very detailed which made installation very easy. The finish is nice and even. Cant beat the shipping either!!!

    9 & 13 inch KMR buyer

    I just recently purchased the KMR 9 for a 10.5 inch 556 build. I chose the KMR because I have had the KMR 13 on a 16 inch BCM rifle, which I have had for 5 years. I am LE and am fortunate to be able to use my rifle for work. My rifle is stored in a vertical rack, which is placed between the driver and front passenger seat. I work in Northeast Ohio so my rifle gets to endure constant jolting from hitting potholes or any other road deformations. So far the KMR bolts have held up well, I have only had to retighten them once(less than 1/2 turn). The polymer rail section screws aren't as tough, but in BCM's defense I have yet to use lock tight on them. In my experience BCM makes a great product which I feel I can rely on.

    Perfect!

    This was perfect for my 10.5 SBR. I was worried about fitting a can and muzzle break and it fits fine. Love not having to index the gas tube!

    Awesome rail!

    This handgaurd is awesome! It was somewhat a pain in the ass to install, but that pails in comparison to how bomber this thing is. Just follow the instructions carefully, take your time, have the right tools, and you won't be disappointed. The KMR has a nice, narrow feel to it, and allows a firm grip, with no sharp edges or snag points. This was my 1st Keymod rail, and I am already sold on the idea; it provides such a great interface for a large variety of tools: lights, bipods, sling mounts, etc. Overall, the KMR rail exceeded my expectations of what a hand guard should be.
