Manufactured from aluminum, it is lightweight yet durable. Also featuring a proprietary patent pending mounting, indexing and lock up system that mitigates 12:00 rail movement under heat generated from the barrel nut.

 

Handguard alone weighs 8.6oz!

The KMR barrel nut will fit over all mil-spec diameter barrels (max of 1")

 

Mounting hardware, 2.4oz, for a total of 11oz on a very long 15 rail.

 

The KMR Alpha is hardcoat anodized for corrosion resistance as well as to maintain a non-reflective finish.

 

The KeyMod interface system was developed by Eric Kincel (now the Director of BCM's product development team) to work in parallel with the current picatinny system. In many applications it will advance modularity past the current 1913 rail system.

 

The BCM KMR Alpha also allows for a larger range of modularity offering 4 different offset mounting positions between traditional 3,6,9, and 12:00 positions.

 

In the most basic of applications the KeyMod system allows for universal modularity between various manufacturers of accessories, and accessory rails. A big win for the trigger puller. As the industry advances the modular accessories will mount directly to the KeyMod instead of picatinny, allowing for a lighter, cleaner, and less bulky weapon system.

Please note: Nylon/Polymer Picatinny rail sections are for NON-load bearing accessories only. For load bearing accessories, we recommend aluminum Picatinny rail sections. Do NOT exceed 20 in/lbs. when securing KeyMod Fasteners on Polymer accessories. Aluminum Picatinny rail sections may be torqued to 30 in/lbs

    15" of Keymod Perfection

    Awesome rail! I have two 13" KMR rails and I actually prefer the aluminum rail. The anodizing perfectly matches my receiver and the parkerizing on the barrel. It's still incredibly lightweight, less expensive, mounts up rock solid on a steel barrel nut, includes a Keymod sling swivel attachment, and costs $40-$50 less! Best lightweight rail package on the market.

    Worth every penny

    The new BCM Alf KMR is a very nice Free Float Tube. I would highly recommend the BCM Alfa KMR to a friend. It looks and feels just like the original KMR. I own two of the original KMR’s. I was a little hesitant at first because it’s not made from the same material and weighs a little more than the original. After taking it out of the box, I knew I was going to like the Alfa KMR better. It’s anodized instead of having the coating that the original KMR has. Which seems to come off easily when removing rail sections. It also matches my 20” upper very nicely. Not like that would ever be a deal breaker for me. Installing it is very simple.

    BCM KMR *ALPHA*

    Really happy I purchased this item. I've been looking for the perfect handgaurd for my liking. Once I saw the BCM KMR ALPHA I knew that I had to get it. Once I received it and installed it I knew it was the right choice. Everything about it I like. This will definitely not be my last purchase from bravo company.     Must Own!!!

    I had a free float rail on one of my rifles and i didn't like it one bit. In order to align the top picatinny rail I had to use some type of locking device that would place my handguard in line with my upper receiver. If i didn't do that, when i used my iron sights my front sight would be off centered. I stumbled upon the kmr and looking at the design, it looked like it would be solid but the price was out of my range. Then the kmr alpha came out and I purchased it. The kmr alpha is as I thought "SOLID." I dont need to worry about my front iron sight ever being off centered. As for the installation it was easy. the instructions stated the handguard going on the barrel nut may need to be heated up, but i was able to get it on without having to do that step. If you cut down your FSB and grinded it to make it a low profile gas block it will work with plenty of clearance all the way around. I am happy with the kmr alpha.
