Manufactured from aluminum, it is lightweight yet durable. Also featuring a proprietary patent pending mounting, indexing and lock up system that mitigates 12:00 rail movement under heat generated from the barrel nut.

 

Handguard alone weighs 8.6oz!

Handguard flares forward (towards muzzle end) at the 3 and 9 O'clock positions approximately 1/4"

Actual length when measured to flare is 15.0"

The KMR barrel nut will fit over all mil-spec diameter barrels (max of 1")

 

Mounting hardware, 2.4oz, for a total of 11oz on a very long 15 rail.

 

The KMR Alpha is hardcoat anodized for corrosion resistance as well as to maintain a non-reflective finish.

 

The KeyMod interface system was developed by Eric Kincel (now the Director of BCM's product development team) to work in parallel with the current picatinny system. In many applications it will advance modularity past the current 1913 rail system.

 

The BCM KMR Alpha also allows for a larger range of modularity offering 4 different offset mounting positions between traditional 3,6,9, and 12:00 positions.

 

In the most basic of applications the KeyMod system allows for universal modularity between various manufacturers of accessories, and accessory rails. A big win for the trigger puller. As the industry advances the modular accessories will mount directly to the KeyMod instead of picatinny, allowing for a lighter, cleaner, and less bulky weapon system.

Please note: Nylon/Polymer Picatinny rail sections are for NON-load bearing accessories only. For load bearing accessories, we recommend aluminum Picatinny rail sections. Do NOT exceed 20 in/lbs. when securing KeyMod Fasteners on Polymer accessories. Aluminum Picatinny rail sections may be torqued to 30 in/lbs

    Great

    I'm really happy with the rail system. Looks great and fits my needs perfectly. Ultra lightweight. Only complaint I have is that it didn't come with a low profile gas block or even elude to needing one. Could have been lack of knowledge. I was lucky enough to find one at a nearby store. Would have been nice for the site to point out extras one might need. But all around happy with the buy.

    The rail was do doubt hands down my favorite! Was going to go with a quad rail but after researching the low profile 15" Im so glad I didn't!!

    The alpha handguard makes my rifle look sic!!

    I will continue to build with this rail!! :)

    Don't think about it, just buy it!

    I had recently purchased a complete BCM upper receiver, but decided I'd like to stay with the 15" rail system so I can have my arm fully extended while shooting for the utmost control. Sure, there are other great handguards out there, but my mind was set on the BCM KMR alpha from the get go. Super slim, light, aesthetically pleasing. The key mod system is a huge bonus! In my honest opinion, this is the best handguard on the market, period. No matter what the application. So, no need to waste your time searching for reviews online. Just buy it! You won't be sorry. You'll only hear good about it. Another great product from BCM! Keep it up Bravo Company! Long live the second amendment!

    Admitted, my first ever kmr handguard, may be going on ALL of my future builds ! This thing is LIGHT ! Fit and finish is second to none, and it seems very durable. VERY impressed with the KMR handguard !

    The handguard is very light, looks great, it is easy to put on, they even send the tool and the locktight. To top this, it arrived very quickly.

    15" ALPHA KMR Rail

    Got this rail for a lightweight SPR build and i was not disappointed. I bought the original 13" BCM KMR Rail the day it came out and I've loved it since. so going with a BCM on this build was again a no brainier.

    Gold Standard in Modular Rails

    Awesome rail. Installation was a little tricky, mainly due the "low profile" gas block I was using was not low profile enough. Rail is very solid. I think this is the best design I've installed (I've installed Troy and ALG Defense). Love keymod, works much better than M-Lok. M-Lok the nuts are very easy to over-torque. Keymod is solid.
