Manufactured from aluminum, it is lightweight yet durable. Also featuring a proprietary patent pending mounting, indexing and lock up system that mitigates 12:00 rail movement under heat generated from the barrel nut.

 

Handguard alone weighs 8.6oz!

The KMR barrel nut will fit over all mil-spec diameter barrels (max of 1")

 

Mounting hardware, 2.4oz, for a total of 11oz on a very long 15 rail.

 

The KMR Alpha is hardcoat anodized for corrosion resistance as well as to maintain a non-reflective finish.

 

The KeyMod interface system was developed by Eric Kincel (now the Director of BCM's product development team) to work in parallel with the current picatinny system. In many applications it will advance modularity past the current 1913 rail system.

 

The BCM KMR Alpha also allows for a larger range of modularity offering 4 different offset mounting positions between traditional 3,6,9, and 12:00 positions.

 

In the most basic of applications the KeyMod system allows for universal modularity between various manufacturers of accessories, and accessory rails. A big win for the trigger puller. As the industry advances the modular accessories will mount directly to the KeyMod instead of picatinny, allowing for a lighter, cleaner, and less bulky weapon system.

Please note: Nylon/Polymer Picatinny rail sections are for NON-load bearing accessories only. For load bearing accessories, we recommend aluminum Picatinny rail sections. Do NOT exceed 20 in/lbs. when securing KeyMod Fasteners on Polymer accessories. Aluminum Picatinny rail sections may be torqued to 30 in/lbs

    Love it!

    I bought the KMR ALPHA hand guard after my wife tried the one I just installed on my rifle. She had to have it. The lightness and elimination of the quad rail makes it much easier to shoot, carry and maneuver. The uncluttered look and feel greatly improves comfort. The Keymod system is a new favorite of mine. It's very easy to use and less bulky. Mounting options are more versatile as well. If you try one out you may be sorely tempted to switch out all your other handgaurds.

    Impressed

    I recently, visited Wilson Combat in Berryville, AR and was very impressed with there Hand guards in their fit and finish. However, I believe that BCM's are superior because they are not a slick to the touch. Love the Key Mod.

    Perfect!

    After debating the idea of selling my Sig M400, I decided to give it a real chance by upgrading it in key areas. The rifle was purchased with Magpul furniture installed and I just did not enjoy taking it out much. I wanted a long rail system and enjoyed watching some reviews on YouTube for various brands that I was considering. This BCM KMR Alpha 15" looked perfect for my needs. It was very easy to install when the upper was placed in the vice block. I added my flashlight rail up front, QD sling attachment and foregrip rail. After adding the BCM KeyMod Covers for a nice clean finish and the rest of the upgrades I was ready for the range tests. This new hand guard system provided a very new and refreshing feel that made me really enjoy shooting the rifle again. The fit and finish shows the attention to detail that I have grown to expect from BCM. I own Daniel Defense and other rail systems, but this unbelievably lightweight piece of awesomeness is my new favorite.

    Amazing Handgaurd!!

    As alway BCM has amazing quality parts and super fast shipping! The KMR handgaurd matched up perfectly with my Lantac UAR upper! Installation was a breeze and only took about 20 minutes!

    Way to tight

    I bought a compression type handguard to avoid any hassles in assembly. Just tighten barrell but. Slip the handguard over the nut tighten and done. Well it was not so easy. Inexplicably Bravo has made this handguard to be a press fit over the barrell but. See their installation instructions. It requires using a mallet to hammer the handguard completely over the barrell nut. In my case, this resulted Ina marred finish. Once on, it is a nice lightweight well designed handguard. But if I had to do it over again, would have gone with another brand that goes on easier.
